Really? You don't know what Damascus is? It's the highest completionist camo you can get in the game. You have to get gold/platinum in every single weapon class until every weapon is gold/platinum... Here's a video by Jev of FaZe Clan...
Obsidian is the highest completionist camo, but it's DLC. Damacus has been there since launch, it's just hard to attain...

I checked the first video thanks, so if l get a gold lmg does it make that gun better or is it just the colour? At the mo l’ve nearly got two lmg’s completed, do both go gold? I only started playing a few days before season 3 started that’s why l don’t know. Details of what happens would be great and what guns are best to do so
The camo challenges do not make the gun better. They just change appearances. Leveling the guns make them better since you can configure the weapon with different attachments.
Nothing says you have to do the camo challenges. The only thing Damascus gets you is knowledge you wasted a significant portion of your life playing a video game.

Oh, to answer your other questions..
Each weapon has it's own camo progression to get gold. Each weapon has to get gold on it's own. Once the original guns from release in a particular class all get gold then platinum will unlock for all in that class. You get platinum in every class then damascus unlocks.
Must be the original guns only. For instance, new LMG was just introduced. You do not need gold on that weapon to unlock platinum for LMGs. But, you need gold on that weapon if you want to use platinum on it. Make sense?

He's not a hacker or aimbotter. Those people are just butt hurt over his quickscoping. Jev is very well known in the Call of Duty community. As I said before he's part of FaZe Clan, one of the most recognizable clan organizations in gaming. They do videos, they compete in leagues, and they are a fashion brand. 100 Thieves and Huntsmen are other well known clans. In fact, Huntsmen are made up of former Optic Gaming players.

I don’t think l am overthinking, everybody else would think the same who didn’t know what Damascus was. A video of someone playing that good where people commenting that he’s a hacker but he’s not, is gonna make them think Damascus makes guns better! It’s a bit confusing. Anyway thank you for trying to help me with an answer.

I didn't, I thought the video nicely demonstrated what Damascus looks like in action and it was also interesting to see how good a player becomes after hours of work at getting their find levelled up and how jealous players of a lesser ability can be.
The video was a good fit, given the context of the conversation, maybe not the best fit, but still a great video to go with.
