Hello,

I have had problems with the first warzone as well. Lag spikes, crashes.. etc.

Warzone 2 has as well been unplayable for me. The FPS counter of Steam or battlenet reaching around 60 fps while the actual drops make it around 4 fps.

To try to solve this i installed afterburner with the built in hardware monitor to identify the problem.

The game doesn't seem to make full use of my PC, Fans never ramp up as they do in other heavy games. Same for the % usage of CPU, GPU, memory and storage. It does not matter whatever settings i try, ultra or low doesn't make a difference. (also tried the documents file change of thread count and pc video memory)

CPU and GPU temperatures in all cases are cooler then normally under load.

My pc:
  • ryzen 5 3600 with a wraith cooler.
  • MSI RX 5700 XT gaming X
  • 16 gb of corsair vengeace RGB pro RAM, set to 3.200MT/s.
  • B450 tomahawk max
  • crucial p1 1TB
Tried the game on Steam and battlenet with fully updated windows 10 and drivers. Tried to roll back drivers as well. Location: The Netherlands

Wanted to record a bit of gameplay to post here to show you guys how bad it is, but when i pressed the record button on OBS i suddenly got loads of improvements in performance. Making it somehow playeable. Still with 1% lows of 2/3 fps. But averaging around 50 fps. During recording with OBS the game seems to use more of my GPU and CPU. Averaging around 75% for GPU and 65% for CPU.

I have tried almost every video i could find about solving issues. But maybe you guys know something that might help or i might have missed while doing own research.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for replying!
I have ran multiple tests using Afterburner. Unsure what you meant with benchmark so did a MSI KOMBUSTOR test. An AFTERBURNER benchmark running DMZ with OBS recording and a AFTERBURNER benchmark without OBS recording running DMZ.
B1= Benchmark without OBS
B2= Benchmark with OBS
B3= Benchmark during KOMBUSTOR
KOMBUSTOR score: https://gpuscore.top/msi/kombustor/show.php?id=1342776
If you need any more information, please let me know.

I am at work now, so I won't be able to jump into your information in depth..

But I had similar problems when I first started with my RTX...

While you wait, peruse this thread

.... and others along that same time frame.. Several of us generated a LOT of info while getting my system up to speed...

I'll get back with ya in a couple hours when I get home...

Good luck working!
I will jump into those threads and will let you know if i found the magic trick.
Such a shame that this game is causing problems for many, appreciate the help!

OK

First thing I would do is look at your CPU/GPU temps..

When I started on this journey, temps were like 80% of my problem, as you can see here..

First thing to check is temps...

Here is the Benchmark program I used to create the above graphics...

I highly recommend it. It will give us a common set of variables to work from..

I am so glad to have @AntiCheatAgent94 and @KeyboardDemon as members. They fill a void that I've been looking for: PC gamers. Hopefully we attract more and more people like them here so we can have a variety of PC gamers that can help each other.

This thread reminds me why I host these forums. :)

Yeah, i never came across the forums when i looked up for solutions to my warzone 1 problems.
But when i found it today i do see a lot of console players.
Glad to have such great help too! Might be of help to others when my problems are solved.

I have ran the 3DMARK test and these are the results.
For me the temperatures look good.

And your scores are good too.. Hmmmmmm

Can you load up MW19 and play a bot match??? I want to eliminate your 'net connection as a possibility...

Also, if you have any other games installed (Far Cry 4 5 or 6 for example) is game play crappy in other games??

And what exactly is OBS?? Is that like GeForce Experience?? Allows you to record highlights and game play and such??

Also, AfterBurner can produce an HML file that looks like this when opened up in AfterBurner..

Can your configuration produce such a file???

I am not a streamer. But sometimes i use the program OBS to show people something or to record something for myself to have a replay of my gameplay. But OBS is mainly used by streamers!

The weird thing is that OBS makes it somehow playable... Which shouldn't be logical, because OBS is also taking some CPU load.
WZ2 doesn't seem to make full use of my PC at all times. But when recording with OBS it somehow helps a ton (not enough).

Gameplay is not crappy in Fortnite, Apex legends, GTA V, F1 22..... Also with high settings.
I tried Far Cry 6 a while ago. Very playable gameplay with stable fps above 60.

Will create a HML file while playing DMZ. And i will look into playing a bot match.

Thanks again!

So, that would indicate it's a WZ2 Software problem...

How is your MWII MP game play???

This is the HML file while playing DMZ.
As you can see, GPU usage, CPU usage and FPS all over the place and Temps staying normal.

I do not own MWII MP unfortunately. I wanted to buy it, but not risking the money if WZ2 is such shitty gameplay for me atm.
