I'm a senior citizen residing in a rural area of California with my husband of almost fifty years. I have run an internet book selling business since 1994. Before that I graduated from UCLA, taught high school English, private school elementary, and even served a stint in a California daycare center during the summer to help pay for an car engine I managed to burn out.

I finally retired from teaching to start a family, but it didn't happen. While I was waiting, I started working as a card buyer in a bookstore in Westwood, and when we moved to Ventura County I was the opening manager of a Hallmark Store in the Oaks Mall.

We finally adopted two older children, a brother and sister, who lived with us for nine years. Our daughter moved away in 1990, and our son was killed in an accident in 1991. Our daughter later joined her brother in 2009.

We moved farther north in 1993 and we each spent a lot of time caring for our widowed mothers until they died. We still stay very busy earning money, being politically active, and trying to stay healthy. When I have time, I read, socialize online, work in the garden, write, and take photo walks.
