Capture the flag?

I played this game for the first time yesterday! Straight away l knew l had to capture the flag and take it back to base. So why do some muppets catch the flag and hide when they need to take it to base? I clearly hear a voice during game that this is what to do! So whhhy do some not bother taking it to base? So annoying!
