COD MWIII / Battlenet account issue

Krendoris

Recruit
This issue began on march 7th. Was playing the game and randomly started getting frame drops, so left the match and restarted the game. The game has never loaded back up since. No cheats ever, no bans listed under my account.

Here is a video of what is happening.
The issue is with my Activision account. Seems to lock up/bug out after "Downloading Weapon Blueprints"

Going on 70 emails back and forth with Activision support with no progress. Its almost like they cant grasp that it is an account issue. I keep getting asked to update drivers, provide DXDIAG, and even update my bios. If it was my PC, then when I log into my wifes account on this "broken" PC, the game shouldnt start and play fine but it does.

I have had friends in different states log into my battlenet account, and they all verified that the same issue happens when they launch MW3 on their PC, when logged into with my credentials.

Somehow my account is bugged. Going on 2 months of not being able to play. Does anyone have any idea of what I could do on my end? Or maybe someone different to contact besides Activision Support? Not willing to buy the game again and just lose all my progression and likely hundreds of dollars on bundles and skins.

Note, all the other call of duty's still work on my PC Including Blackops cold war

Egregious issues like this are the most annoying, I'm sorry you're going through this. While I'm sure you've tried all the typical troubleshooting steps, such as repairing the game, uninstalling/reinstalling, video drivers..etc.; although, I'm curious about one thing: have you left the game running on that image/black screen for some time?

Reason being is I'm curious if it's something to do with the shaders? As we all know, after any update, namely video driver updates, you have to rebuild the shaders. I wonder if something in your shader cache got corrupt when you first started noticing issues?

Seems like a long shot, but again, just curious if leaving your game running on that screen for any long period of time does anything for you.

I sure did. I thought the same and left it up for about 4hrs with no change. Sadly it's an issue on Activisions end with my account. When I log into my wife's account on my PC the game loads and runs perfectly. Even downloaded warzone on steam. It already had my Activision login when launched through steam, and yet still the same black screen after seeing "loading weapon blueprints"

The fact that the behaviour is the same even on Steam is actually wild. Kinda ridiculous that Activision isn't able to provide more on their end.

As I'm sure I'm reading all the same Reddit threads as you, what if you let the intro movie play all the way through? A lot of people during MW2 (2022) said that it worked for them. I swear if it was something like that, I'd flip a table LOL

Also, anything different if you change regions in Battle.net before launching? A number of people said that helped them. Sorry if this isn't helping, I know this is frustrating.

Yep I have tried EVERYTHING I have read online. Lol have had almost 3 months to research and try solutions. If activision responds to me saying I need to update my GPU again, I'm gonna flip a table. They keep requesting my dxdiag and msinfo every week like they are gonna find something

I feel that. Some of the support coming out of some of these companies can be so infuriating. I know if I was in the same spot as you, I'd be losing my damn mind lol.

Have you tried unlinking your accounts from Activision's website? You can unlink both your Bnet and/or Steam account which should prompt you to re-link them upon launch of the game.

I'm so sorry, amigo. I really hope Acti support can get off their arse and actually provide something helpful about this. It seems to be a real widespread issue.

At this point, I think either Microsoft needs to fix the account linking stuff, or Activision disbands this idea of cross-play, cross-progression account system. I honestly think this Activision account system needs to go away, go back to the original account system, where you only use your PSN and/or Xbox account to play. Consoles go against consoles like it always was, leave PC to their own island.

The account system invited a lot of hackers into the fold and causes everyone more headaches than it solves.
