I have not been able to paly the game on my pc since season 2 launch. Every time I launch game about 10 seconds in the game freezes and crashes. Error Code 0x887A0005 (0x8877A002B)(6456)D is what displays on the crash screen when it pops up. I have tried the blizzard.net support and they just keep sending me automated responses. I have tried the following:
-Scan and repair feature
-End Task through task manager and relaunching
-Clearing game cashe folders
-Reinstalling both blizzard.net and mw2 game itself multiple times
-Clean installed the last 5 different Nvidia drivers to see if its the Nvidia drivers
-Running launcher as admin
-Starting game is "Safe Mode" after the crashes
-Checked all windows updates are up to date

Every other game on my PC works fine. Even Overwatch 2 through the blizzard app. Any assistance appreciated as I would like to be able play the game I paid for again.

PC Specs:
-EVGA Geforce FTW 3080
-I9-11900K
-AsRock Z590 MB
-16GB 3600 Crucial Ballistic Ram
-1000W power supply

ok first off its not your graphics card, this error has run pampant, i have not locked up in a few weeks now. why i dont know and there are videos on youtube and so called fixes on internet. i started with windows update, gpu drivers current and past, i turned off paralell effect in game settings and i turned off in game voice to start with.and i guess that game_ship is no where to be found on my pc so it must be on thier side whoever they are because you will not here from them. i recently updated mobo bios. and i have not locked up since before last update. thats not to say it wont lock up today, but as of now i have been good. keep at and i hope it stops for because i know its frustrating and will piss you off. and i recently went to 2 sticks of ram instead of 4. was getting dram light on mobo so its been ok now.good luck keeps us posted.

Which version of nvidia driver are you running? I am using a similar system and have 528.49 running currently. You are running which version of Windows? I have Windows 11 PRO version 22H2.

Oh, here is a link to a free trial driver scan and updater for your system. I have used it in the past without problems as it is from a very good company IOBit. The free trial will try to get you to install some other minor things but just choose No Thanks and continue with the install. After the scan check and see what has to be updated and there will be some or lots. You can scroll through the list and simply not select any that you dont want to update. Im pretty sure that it only shows results in the list for things that are outdated.

IOBit Driver updater TRIAL VERSION

I cannot promise that it will fix your issues and Im not responsible for any adverse outcomes. I only suggest things that I have tried successfully on my personal PC.

Another really good updater is the AVG Driver Updater. I have used this one too and like it.

One thing to note about these trial versions is that most are not fully functional during the trial period.

I think I figured it out. After trying out different Nvidea drivers and scan/repair not working I started turning off other apps. 1 by 1 I shut things off.

I was able to launch the game after shutting off Percision X1 app. I only use this app for the lighting effects on my GPU. No overlay or overclocking. I have not crashed a single time since I started turning this software off.

I did uninstall/reinstall X1 but COD still crashes when X1 is running. My issue appears to be solved as long as the app is not running.
