Can't we just let them play rather than try and explain identity politics to a child that would rather play with a doll or have fun with their friends. If adults like me can't get to grips with when to and not to use pronouns and which pronouns to use, how are we going to teach that to child that's still learning to read?

That's why its not controversial what Nickmercs said. What you're describing there is what we're saying. This isn't a "right-wing" thing, either. Most people agree with you. It's not that I can't say it nicely, I am sure I can, and I really don't like what is being forced upon our children in schools, to me the entire situation is nonsensical. I am happy for my 6-year-old to be a Princess when she wants to play princess, or cat when she wants to play at being a cat, she even likes to play at being a teacher or child at school while one of her cousin's plays the teacher.
