Hi all,
first of, this is my first time here on this forum, I just registered because I could not really find any other forum for CoD and this one seems to be around for a while. Quickly about me, I play all kinds of games but I do play CoD and most (not all) of it's titles pretty much since Call of Duty 1, which I enjoyed a lot. So hello, glad to be here.
I must say I am a little disappointed about the game. I expected a little more really, I did play the campaign and noticed many flaws especially when it comes to details such as language and uniform, I can't understand how a triple A title isn't able to get some native speakers for Russian and German, check the grammar of written things in-game and does not even get the weapons and uniforms right at all.. I mean East-German soldiers with AK 5 and MP5 seems more than off, they did not use that at all and devs could just have given them AKs.... calling the border soldiers Stasi? While it's just normal border police... Non of this should happen with such a big title and for such a big price.
I also noticed that the game really lacks maps and content in regards to the multiplayer.
To my further disappointment I also noticed that no one in this game is responding to questions asked in the chat nor is using the VOIP chat except for breating in to it.. ( lol ) =)
I waited for a Call of Duty Cold War for quite a while really and this game feels kind of empty, dead and although the campaign is fun to play, lacks a lot of detail really, things that a 12 years old could have googled within 30 seconds for his school project. I mean I get that this is a U.S production game and in my experience Americans do not care too much about authenticity in countries that is not their own, but I played CoD games that were better and they definitely did a much much better job with most of their previous titles, this is just plain disappointing.
Am I the only one who has noticed that and is kind of disappointed by it? I get that the whole scenario of the game is fictional as the Cold War never really went hot for the most part, but they do seem to aim for authenticity while not getting it right with such simple things as weapons, uniforms, language.. I mean how hard can it be for a millions heavy company to get a few Russian and German native speakers to check their grammar and do the speaking, I can hear the majority of characters in this game having a strong American accent when speaking Russian and German, its just kind of ruining the immersion and a campaign is all about immersion in my understanding.
I own the game via battle.net and I do not find any way there to review the game nor use any decent forums to actually ask questions in regards to technical issues or find players. So I am going to use the opportunity to ask if anyone else had the UI Bug Error issue ?
