Warzone 2.0 PLUNDER RETURNS!!! :D First Thoughts...

PLUNDER for Warzone 2 is back.. Here are my first impressions...

Right off the bat...

ONLY Plunder QUADS

Looks like everyone starts with ZERO weapon points..

So... NOT a good start...

OK, after first match...

Some good, some bad...

In no particular order...

BAD

Only QUADS are available..

Like in Plunder 1, crates open and spew all their stuff and it's gone after a min or two..

NONE of your weapons and attachments you earned in DMZ are available here... You start with NOOB gear.. No heartbeat sensor, no decked out sniper rifle, no nuttin'...

All the special areas that are locked in DMZ are locked in PLUNDER... In short, there isn't much to loot..


GOOD

Cash Balloons are there...

My first match, I didn't die once and I got 2 kills...

OK Corrections.. In my haste to jump into a match, I neglected to check out things in the pre-match area...

You CAN access all your weapons and attachments and gear your earned from DMZ..

More good... You don't have weapons when you parachute in.. So no Geneva Convention violations...

Played my second match... Got a couple kills, got killed a few times...

PLUNDER doesn't seem as smooth as DMZ... It's kinda jerky and fast paced....

No Field Upgrades at Deployment... Bad...

Choppers are buff'ed... But they do re-spawn...

Apologies for the 1 line comments... I just put down my thoughts as they come...

More good things.. You spawn with a 3-plt vest and a large backpack.. Plates are plentiful and I do mean plentiful.. They are ALL over the place...

GPUs are a dime a dozen...

No NPCs which is a good thing.. But there are Strongholds that are man'ed with Tier 2 NPCs if you want to take them on...

There is a 150m limit on planting C4 on choppers... Meaning ya have to stay within 150 meters if ya want to detonate a chopper... And ya have to shoot them up like crazy before the C4 will actually destroy the chopper...

That's it so far... All in all, it's PLUNDER of the WZ1 variety.. Not much in the way of improvements on the genre...

OK My first full session of PLUNDER...

I have to admit I am somewhat under-whelmed.. The game play is PLUNDER.. The mechanics is not much of an improvement over WZ1 PLUNDER...

I guess the biggest beef I have is the same beef I had with WZ1's PLUNDER..

SOLOs being forced to play against teams... It's the KOBYASHI MARU all over again...

I have to confess that DMZ has spoiled me with the Proximity Chat and actually being able to hook up... I guess I am a slut like that..

I am thinking that, until we get PLUNDER SOLO, I might be stickin' with DMZ....

Final thoughts on PLUNDER in this thread...

The 2 biggest things wrong with it are the choppers are buff'ed beyond any possible use and it's impossible to prevail against QUAD teams..

Until such time as those are addressed, I'll probably be sticking with DMZ...

Since there is prox chat in plunder, I don't see why we couldn't hook up like in dmz.
To me, the only real dif between dmz & plunder is the amount of cash in plunder.
I just don't like not being able to bring an ar and an smg like in wz1's plunder.

I am not sure what you mean.. PLUNDER's Loadout setup is similar to MW 2019 MP's setup...

You create loadouts prior to a match and then, after starting the match, it gives you the option of choosing which loadout.. You can even customize the perks.

I played plunder with a couple friends the other day. I am confused as all get out on it.

it was underwhelming to me as well.
from what I get you spawn in and then try to gather loot and turn it in at the drop spots.
If you get killed you get a short drop to somewhere near your team with your normal loadout.

Its like TDM meets kill confirmed and add in some DMZ looting

You loot up as much cash as you possibly can, think to win is $2million. As for respawning, you spawn upwards of 1000 meters away from your squad, has always been like that. You NEVER drop within proximity to them.
