If you don't have a team for your "Quad" (squad), you can really benefit from having gone that route, because - even though you're playing with a bunch of randoms, their objective is the same as yours. And players are reacting positively to it. It's obvious that Treyarch wants you to select "quads" rather than going solo. Going solo increases the chance of losing. You don't have a support system. You're on your own.
Yes, there are some assholes, but really, this system really works in BlackOut. Stay with your team if you want to survive. I expect this to be magnified once BO4 is released. Regardless, there are some players that will go along with you or at least try to help.
