What do you think the storyline will be?

So Makarov's now dead.. What do you think the next storyline will be about? Will it start another trilogy?
I personally hope it's the beginning of a new series (MW4,5 and 6) which brings a totally new storyline.
Opinions?

I think it would be nice as well for a new storyline. They need to change something up. I feel they should move away from the MW series and start doing something a little different. I would love a WWII cod game again like cod2. Probably will never see that though.

I"m betting they'll do something like what BOII did to the first and take place, at least in part, in the future with some of their kids. Maybe a new cold war mentality has swept the world years after the US was invaded. It could set the stage for a plot where the characters are trying to stop a tense armistice from devolving into all out combat and the consequences of making dangerous alliances.

Yes i do also hope its a new storyline maybe based on things that has happened recently related to war would be pretty awesome but i guess some countrys would ban that.

Yeah, some of your ideas are pretty awesome. I'd like a storyline set FAR into the future, with guns to match. I mean, it's called Modern Warfare, but what's stopping a sub/new series called "Future Warfare"? I personally would prefer something like that. The creators could really go wild with new weapon creations, building on existing ones and implementing prototypes. I remember World at War had quite a few "prototype" guns, and I really enjoyed the game because of this.

Since it's going to be for a new generation of consoles, I feel they should also start a whole new story line altogether. It would be a brand new experience for the player as well. It would be awesome if it was set a few years ahead in the future too.

I think they should also launch a brand new campaign because it is getting a bit old. This release should be the birth of a new campaign and the next era of CoD, so gamers have something new to look forward to.

Yeah, a new campaign shouldn't really be desired, it should be expected! Has a Modern Warfare title been confirmed or are we just speculating?

I hope they bring back the Black Ops 2 styled campaign.. Something innovative was a brave move, and one which made the campaign more interesting so far.

Really true, maybe something really futuristic? I don't know, but I can't wait for both MW4 and BF4, I bet they will both be amazing games!

Pretty simple stuff for the singleplayer for CoD games these days. I'm ripping on the fact that CoD hasn't had a good singleplayer in awhile, because I'm getting it solely for the multiplayer experience.

Same here. I think most people who buy CoD only buy it for the multiplayer, atleast in my area anyway. I personally don't usually play the single player, and I'd rather Activision/Infinity Ward focussed on a better multiplayer to be honest, but It's fun hearing people's ideas!

The new storyline from what I heard is just about the life a random Marine going into the battlefield.. thats what I heard from last year.
