Emblems

Recruit
Why is it (At least I have yet to see such emblems) that this game does not have a SAS emblem, (since it's mostly British) or Delta, (Which was created out of SAS training) 24th Special Tactics Squadron, MARSOC, NSWC, SOG, Spetsnaz, and the list can go on.

Trademark. Simple.

A company who's organization was called "Delta" (or something like that), sued Activision during the height of Black Ops 2, over a logo. Game was patched to remove that logo, then from there on, Activision vowed to never use "historical" company logos ever again. That's why most logos you see in games from BO2 on, are designed by Activision themselves.

As Carlos said.

It's the same reason some guns aren't called by their actual real life names.
The crazy thing is, when a weapons manufacturer sued Activision, my first words out of my mouth was "What are you doing!?" It's free advertising. Same thing with the humvees.

Those companies are STUPID.

Free advertising? In what, in the hope someone might actually buy a gun, bad idea! Lol!

Well, a weapons manufacturer can't really advertise on TV, to sell weapons. So films do the advertising. Soldiers and Marines learn about weapons via training. But there are some undiscovered weapons out there in the world. You wanna know where I discovered Desert Eagle?

Take a guess. And it was a discussion between myself and my cousin who is a Marine. His father is Navy.

Desert Eagle that’s a revolver isn’t it?

Wait. I was under the impression that military insignia were public domain since "We The People" pay for the military and or all government entities. I can understand the name of weapons because there built from the private sector and they own the trademark. But I have never heard of "Military" trademarks.

Yes this is new to me too!

Hey, beats me. Here's the lawsuit article if interested: Citation 1, Citation 2, Citation 3 (relevant, and Activision won), Charlie Intel even wrote an article where a judge disagreed over the Delta Force name and logo (the insignia).

Thank you very much. This will make for some interesting reading. By the by, Carlos. You own this site, correct? And it seems that you have an inside track to Activision. Were you or are you still a dev there? Or if you told me you would need to kill me... :)

Read the footer. Scroll down. No affiliation with Activision. I'm the owner, yes, but zero contacts with Activision. I tried contacting the PR agency, no word back. I tried contacting Activision's in-house PR, because I had a friend who had contacts in Activision. I also knew the VP. Everyone shut communication from me. I dunno why, I have enough influence to change people's minds about Call of Duty. Earlier this year, they shut down the official Forum, and that sent me a LOT of traffic.

I'm a journalist with aspirations for becoming a game developer/publisher.

What Univ. did you attend? I'm sure that you have an alum that can help you with contact to get where you want to go.
