8-Pin CPU PWR Plug Not Key'ed Properly

I am building a RYZEN Gamer for this guy.. He has a fancy schmancy (yes I am jealous :D) TUFFPOWER GF3 1350wt PSU..

The problem is the cable for the 8-pin CPU MB Power Plug is not key'ed properly..

If you look at the graphic, the male plug on the right flips over and plugs into the female plug on the left.. The left edge plugs are key'ed properly.. SQUARE on the top "HOUSE" shaped plug on the bottom...

But on the top plug on the right, it's a SQUARE plug, but the connecting plug is a "HOUSE" plug. I can make it fit with minimal exertion, but I am concerned about it not being key'ed properly...

I would think that correct keying would be important...

But is it??

My answer is that YES it is important.
I would think so too...

But the cable is the ONLY one for this particular connector..

The TOUGHPOWER is one of those Modular where you plug in specific cables..

And the cable is the only cable marked CPU POWER...

Now I COULD just plug in the 4-pin connector, but I don't think these new MBs with the 8-pin CPU Power connectors can work with just a 4-pin plug...

I would contact both Thermaltake and the mobo manufacturer to see what they say. Warranty does not cover mistakes in power couplers. See what they have to say and keep or get it in writing (email or however) to cover your ass.

Yea, I jumped over the AORUS MB Forums.. I can't imagine that the power pinouts would be different.. I mean, the 8-pin CPU Power connector is an industry standard, right??

Industry standards are everything in the world of electronics. During some of the builds that I have done for people I have come across situations like this but more often than not a SPECIFIC connector or adapter was included. Im not able to see enough detail from the images or context so I am not sure it the power supply connector is standard or if AORUS went anal and switched things up.

DOH!!!!

Disregard.. It was a DSAK (Dumb Sh!t At Keyboard) problem. :^/

I neglected to unpack ALL the cables that came with the TOUGHPOWER GF3.. There was another CPU Power Cable that had the proper key'ing...

Apologies for wasting the photons...
