I run a gigabyte mb amd fx 8350 4.2 8 core cpu 16 gigs of ddr400 Seagate firecuda hd 1 tb and evga gtx 1060 3 gig graphics card and have no issues gaming very smooth. but thought about up grading graphics card and would have to change psu due to needing an 8 pin connector, so would upgrading vid card help the gaming be better or not if so any recommendations on vid card and psu would be appreciated,im 55 yo and im into to this mw game havnt gamed in 25 years since counter strike days lmao.

What sort of frame rate are you getting?

If you go into the MW Graphics settings you should be able to find a setting to turn the FPS counter on.

If you are managing a decent frame rate, as in over 60fps then it's not really worth upgrading the GPU, you might find it better to upgrade your monitor to help you see the action more clearly and get a better refresh rate..

What he's saying is, you are probably experiencing input lag. So, you press a button, the action you're getting on-screen is getting delayed. Your "monitor" is a TV, not a PC monitor. Most monitors today have better refresh rates to prevent input lag. You'll notice buzzwords like "Vsync" and similar technology, those monitors specifically reduces or eliminates input lag.

ok thanks

anybody recommend a good stable power supply iim running a gigabyte 78lmt usbs r2 mobo amd fx 8350 8 core cpu 4.2 16 gigs ddr3 ram Seagate 1tb firecuda hd and a evga 1060 sc graphics, imlooking to upgrade graphics but psu only has 6 pin connector so id rather upgrade then use adapter, thanks for any replys

I would suggest a 650 watt GPU which will give you room for overclocking or adding more power hungry components later, as for brands you could try SuperFlower Leadex III, EVGA, Be Quiet, Corsair or Seasonic, these are all really reputable brands that are really trustworthy.

Tiny Tom Logan did a YouTube review of the SuperFlower Leadex II and it was the second lowest model on the ripple test, the only PSU that beat it was a Corsair and it was priced at three times more than the SuperFlower.

Sorry, just noticed that for some reason I said 650 watt GPU when I meant to say 650 watt PSU.

great thanks,

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/evga-7...c-dc-technology-black/6346160.p?skuId=6346160 will this work I have an older full size atx case don't need modular
The main advantage of a modular PSU is that it allows you to keep cable clutter down to a minimum by reducing the number of unnecessary cables in your system.

Too many cables can potentially block airflow and they don't look neat, but as we don't have 4 inch wide cable ribbons anymore it isn't the problem that it once used to be.

A good middle ground is a semi-modular PSU.

The EVGA model you linked is from a good, I have an EVGA in my PC and it has outlasted the 5 year warranty with no issues.

thanks for reply I have a full size case ive had for years so hiding wires no big deal, I got a thermaltake 700 watt smart series psu and I got a evga ko 2060 graphics card,im told that will be nice upgrade from the evga 1060,

its a shame to have to upgrade psu my current is a antec 800 what ive had for 12 yrears but it doesn't have the 8 pin ii need for graphics card

12 years, wow... and I forgot about Antec, another great brand, but seriously, after running that PSU for 12 years, how much longer do you think it will run?

I'm surprised that the fan bearings haven't worn out yet, that's really amazing, in impressed.

I think this monitor alone would have made a big difference to your gaming experience, the 144hz refresh rate and FreeSync means you will be able to use the G-Sync on your current GTX1060 or your new RTX2060 to get smoother, stutter free and tear free gaming. On top of that the uplift in frame rates from the new RTX2060 card will make the experience much better.

I tried a 32 inch monitor for gaming and found it far too big to be able to use on a standard desk, I had to move my head quite a lot to see the corners of the screen and would miss a lot in my peripheral view, for gaming I think the sweet spot for size is around the 24"-27" mark and use a 27" monitor myself, though with my setup I get better results playing at 1920x1080 than I do at 2560x1440.

At 1920x1080 I get between 80-90fps, at 2560x1440 I was getting closer to 60-75fps.

everything is up and running great im doing 1920 by 1080 and getting 65 in lobby but in game it goes up from that, but the fps screen is so small I cant see it hardly

Use GeForce experience to save a 5 minute gaming session and watch it later, it's hard to watch the fps while you are in the thick of battle but once recorded you can take your time and look at frame rates at different points in the game.

will do thanks

I have refresh in cod at 144 and monitor at 144 but my nvidia control says monitor not gsync compatible or im missing something.

mine is freesync

oh my monitor menu does not show freesync I don't get it
