I am in a clan called Old Man Gaming with 5 other friends...... we have played a ton of ranked matches and ton of regular SnD, TDM, KC and our clan is still level 1..... it just doesn't ever seem to level up. Any ideas?

Clan not leveling up?!?!

I think you guys need to play in a game mode that "counts towards [clan or clan wars] points." In other words, game modes that uses clan points in general. If you're not in a clan-related mode, then you won't be able to grow as a clan. It was in BO2 somewhat, and it's also in Ghosts.
Eitther that, or start using the COD app, which is where much of the clan-related stuff takes place.

Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Uplink, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Search & Rescue, and Capture the Flag
(Core/Hardcore/Classic all applies.)
Basically, either look for a new patch, or wait for the next patch.

Just some info that I've found out playing with my clan:
Each player in a game gets 100xp per win and 50xp per loss
So, if your team wins a game and you have 6 players, you will get 100xp for the clan level. In my opinion, TD/Domination is the best game mode to level your clan up but that may be different for someone else
The level doesn't seem to refresh much on the console, but the COD app works best
