Disconnected From Steam

This seems to be the new bug. Game played fine aside from the campaign crashes which Hot fix then new driver release fixed. Ever since the new patch, Disconnected from Steam is a constant and even verification of files and connection does not help.

Activision offered this, it did not work.

• Open the Steam application.
• Navigate to the “Steam” section in the upper left corner. Click on “Settings“
• In the window that opens, click on “downloads”
• Then click on “Clear Download Cache” and press OK.
• The Steam application will restart
• Now launch the “Modern Warfare 2” game
