Fast Question Is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War The same as Black Ops 2 ?

To answer your questions: No, both games are completely different. Black Ops 2 takes place in the future (but, its a good game.) and Black Ops Cold War takes place in the 80's, during the height of the cold war of the 1980's.

Well, most Call of Duty games are being hammered by hackers. Thanks to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare [2019] popularity. However, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War shipped buggy, and Warzone isn't that far behind, either. Modern Warfare [2019] was glitchy, but not at the same scale as Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
Just... letting you know before you go like "WTF!?" at the game(s).
The games are usually patched after every season, though.
On PSN, Black Ops Cold War is $39.

Yup. Released last fall. Basically, a 6 month-old game.
I will die on the hill for CoD4. There's a remaster. Search "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered."
Without quotes, of course.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) is also good.
For me, the top is the following:
1. CoD4/Modern Warfare Remastered
2. Black Ops 2
3. Modern Warfare 2019
4. Advanced Warfare

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is based on the iconic Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. But MW2 Remastered only shipped with campaign.

I like MW3, just not my top 4. It was a good game, just stale after you've played everything. DLC business model was getting a hang of it. This was when patches started spreading ideas of DLC into mainstream games.
I say the same for MW2, but with MW2... glitches, bugs, loopholes, exploits are paramount.
My suggestion is to stick with at least 3 years to go back and try old games.
Recommendation is as follows:
- Modern Warfare 2019
- Black Ops Cold War
- Modern Warfare Remastered
That is the line where it stops.
CoD2021 hasn't been revealed, but rumor is the game is basically a sequel to Call of Duty: WWII. Led by Sledgehammer Games, so if you liked Call of Duty: WWII, then wait for CoD2021.

I'm really enjoying Cold War, despite the bugs and various network glitches, I find the game itself is mostly fun.
My preferred mode is Hard Core Free For All, but when the maps are full of spawn campers then I'll play Gunfight, Snipers Only Moshpit, or Zombies - Outbreak and Outbreak Solo.
I tend to play Outbreak Solo more as when playing with other players voice comms really makes the game but I can't use voice without risking waking the kids and I only okay after they go to bed.

Black Ops 2 was pretty fun.. And had the awesome voice talents of Michael Rooker..
Black Ops 3 had way too many gadgets to learn and master.. But it did have the advantage of having the voice of Ben Browder (Lt Col Cameron Mitchell, STARGATE SG-1).. Every time he talked I could hear him say:
"Hay.. Do you know where the Stargate is??"
