Is the Xbox more geared to FPS than the PS?

I ask this because there seems to be a lot more FPS gaming coming from the Xbox overall. I also have to wonder if that dedication to FPS is what drives certain design decisions. Honestly though... does the Xbox have more FPS games than the PS - it has Halo, it has Gears of War, it has ... hmm. It has several FPS hybrids like Mass Effect... hmm. I don't know.

I think the Xbox is definitely aimed specifically at the american audience, where sport and shooter games are much more popular.
Mass Effect is not an FPS in any way, and don't forget it's also on PC and playstation. I feel like Sony is more focused on indie and singleplayer games while Mircrosoft sponsor the sports and the shooters.

As moaz13 said, not only is the xbox aimed towards americans in general, but also, the Playstation is aimed at the asian market, so it's bound to be more focused on JRPGs or RPGs in general. Of course, what I have just said is a generalization, as of course there will be asians playing FPS games on Xbox and americans playing RPGs on Playstation.

Yup. Now with games like Sunset Overdrive, MGS5 and Kingdom Hearts coming out for the Xbone, Microsoft might start to widen their target audience range, which they really need since the Xbone isn't doing so well.

Nope, I don't think so at all. I like the PS4 controller more then the xbox one even though I'm a PC gamer.

The PS4 runs games a lot better anyways.

I don't think neither consoles are fps focused. All FPS games end up on both consoles unless they are first party games. Xbox has Halo and Gears, Playstation has Resistance, and Killzone. Sony just has a lot more RPG based games, because they are a Japanese company, and RPGs originated in Japan.
