I don't want to encourage spamming. I want to bring a quality community to all. I can turn it on with a click of a button, but post counts usually encourage spamming sometimes. And those "I have more posts than you." arguments.... Yeah, no.

Fair enough, I see your reasoning. It always depends what type of people come on really, some are like that, some aren't. It's a shame the ones who are ruin it for everyone though.

The site gets decent traffic, and I see all kinds of spam. Profile Spam, Forum Posts Spam, Status Spam - I'd just spent that last 30 minutes tracking down all of the spam, and then banning the spammers... But the next 3 months leading up to the CODGhosts launch will see a bigger traffic spike. So this will be like "nothing."
