Saving Multiplayer Game

I wanted to play with a friend, who sat next to me, Cod WaW Multiplayer. But as I didn't have Internet, we played splitted screens. We played 3 hours and then we wanted to save the game, but we recognized that it doesn't work....we couldn't save our game. So does someone know how to save the game, or is it just not working?

In Singleplayer I could save it on "save and end", but not on Multiplayer...

I just don't think an option to save multiplayer games was ever added. They may have been since I last played but it is doubtful.
