Stupid Question over Soap's Journal

Ok so I'm new to COD and I'm trying to learn all the lore and stuff. Now this is a really stupid question but when things confuse me--I go a little nuts. Anyway, in Soap's Journal theres a little drawing of a nurse with a thought bubble of "Don't Drop The Soap" ... now I know the uhhh saying and I always thought it was very negative but if you hover over the image it is titled "Soap is funny"

How? Is this some kind of inside joke or something?

I apologize if I'm in the wrong thread as I have no idea what exactly I'm doing but I'm just confused over this lol.

It's a reference to John MacTavish. John "Soap" MacTavish, it's a spoiler if you didn't finish Modern Warfare 3. He dies in MW3.

This is actually only my second time playing 3. I grew frustrated after the remastered (2) made that platinum so hard.
