Upgrading from trial version of game

I am coming to the end of the free trial, and have decided to buy the game. However, I don’t want to pay the Xbox store asking price as I can get it online (digital code) significantly cheaper. My question is, will I have to delete the game, redeem code, and then reinstall it? Or can I simply redeem the code and then have full access to the game? Also, if I do have to delete/reinstall will it remember my progress from the trial?

No, you won't have to delete the game, just redeem the code to unlock the full game.

Any progress will be retained in your account.

For both questions, this is how it worked for me, except I play on PC and did buy through the Battlenet launcher as there was a special offer at the time that I bought the game.
