@kiteman
And you've confirmed my point - that m&k does have an advantage.
I'm only speaking for myself here (though I'm sure many feel the same) but m&k doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.
Suggesting that controller players should start using m&k to level the playing field is like saying that all those playing without aimbot should start using it to take away their advantage. Bit of a straw man but you get my point. Everyone having the same amount of assistance isn't the only way to make it fair, m&k players should have their own lobby and controller players should have their own lobby.

I'm not saying that at all. I am only saying that it seems console players are whiny. If you're willing to sponsor, I'll gladly buy an Xbox and play M&K. It I get enough people to go with me, eventually the (not necessarily you) controller console players is going to complain about this.

Using m&k on my console is an interesting thought. But, sounds like too much work. And, I would have to give up lounging on the couch or recliner playing on the big screen. [emoji39] I am too lazy to set up a table in the living room just for cod. I'll stay as one of the whiners.

I play a laptop and on my couch. My mousepad is a Barnes and Noble Nook HD+ case. Seriously. Ha

I'm not trying to convince you to play with a controller mate. Nobody should be forced to play with certain hardware for it to be a level playing field.
I'm suggesting that you m&k players should have a lobby, and the controller players should have a lobby.

We are getting kind of off topic here though. This is a thread about cheaters ‍♂

Not really that off topic! I mean it's still true that 1. any non cheater on any platform deals with cheaters, 2. many console people think PC players cheat because PC players CAN cheat, but in actuality most of the PC players you think cheat are just better than you and can accomplish more with a M&K, and lastly, 3. I would totally sponsor m&k play with a console if Microsoft was willing to give me an XBOX to try it. I mean, really they should. It's getting REALLY annoying for you console players to continue to find a way to bitch about PC players.

I'm not even sure what point you're making anymore. Is anybody denying it's easier to use a M&K for FPS? It's an obvious advantage, which is why aim-assist exists on consoles for Cross-Play. This is done to level the playing field. This is also nowhere near the topic, as my man suggested. This thread is to talk about legit cheating, how to deal with it and how to report it, not about you wanting Microsoft to send you a free XBox so you can prove something that we already know exists?

To get back on topic. Cross-Play is not going anywhere. One of the biggest complaints from Battle Royale games is wait times in lobbies, which you run into when you start letting players filter maps and squad size etc. The more options to pick from to search for a game the more fragmented the playerbase, the longer you wait for games. Cross-Play helps negate this by, obviously, tripling the size of the total player-base for each individual platform. If there are 20m on PC, 20m on XBox, and 20m on PS then you can put them together to get 60m and still allow for squad size and map filtering etc.

The Devs have already seen the success of this with Warzone. This game mode is not going anywhere, and neither is cross play. The solution to PC hacking is not to segragate PC players, it is to find a way to minimize the impact of those hackers. Charge for the game instead of F2P would be a good start. CS Go saw cheating skyrocket once it became F2P - if there is no cost to hackers when they get caught, there's no reason for them to stop hacking. If it costs them $60 each time they get caught, sure s a small number might be willing to pay $1k for this game annually just to cheat. But that would filter out a good majority of the hackers.

Also hacking is not as rampant as anybody makes it seem. I just got Warzone about a month ago and am not entirely sure I've seen a hacker yet. I've seen a couple very sketchy looking instances of what look like an aimbot, but without a fully replay system it's impossible to tell if it was just a lucky shot or whether he did it to 30 other people that same game. When you die to somebody who looks like they're hacking, 99.9% chance it's just because they were better and/or luckier than you.

It's actually mind-boggling to me that this game is F2P for Warzone. Like, why. I mean I already know the answer - it's to get as many eyeballs as possible in their store to buy gun skins et al. But that is the main source of the problem here - there needs to be a cost hindrance to "rebuying" the game for anyone caught hacking.

I like the F2P model but you've probably got a good point there.
I tend to resent paying for season passes on bought games, the F2P model sort of gives me permission to spend a little money on the game each season.

But yeah. I could see that having a big effect on the cheaters.

I'm not saying you would have to pay for season passes for a game you've already purchased. You make a one-time payment to buy the game - no other payments required unless you'd rather pay to buy skins instead of earn them over time. Hackers having to pay that same one-time payment over and over each time they're caught will reduce the number of hackers, because not everyone wants to pay $500-$1,000 just to play Warzone.

You more or less confirmed my point - I wasn't saying console players DO use M&K much, but if they took the time to learn it, they would be a lot better than controller players. So, making the argument you don't like to play with PC players because console players are a level playing field would completely go out the window if many of those console started learning how to play M&K and got good at it. And like complaining about PC players, I guarantee 100% that console controller players would start complaining about M&K players.

BTW the reason console players do not use M&K is because the learning curve is very steep. As I mentioned early on I've been doing it more or less 20 years so it comes naturally to me (and many others).
What is m&k?

This needs implemented across the board. Warzone AND Multiplayer. New and existing accounts.

I agree I think the main issue that many free to play games have had is that it's very quick for banned players to return to the game, making it harder for them to return before purging the existing hackers/cheats makes a lot of sense.

In the same way that turning off the tap before mopping up the water makes sense, right?

well considering , when one hack gets caught, They just make another one, Until it gets caught. its a revolving door in PC land, welcome to playing on pc.... You will always have them pussies that THINK there good. If I could use a dam analog and liked consoles I would have never switched.
You do know there is an SMS two step authentication required for pc players to play the game now? Which means once they use their phone numbers to play the game it is forever tied to their pc so no new burner accounts

Pc m&k players are the most whiney players there are. " Oh no controller player" " Must be nice to aim assist" . M&K players have a huge movement speed advantage over controller players hence why we have aim assist. Jesus christ just shut up and play with the method you chose. Such cry babies

lmao @ this guy ^ . Speed advantage? you do know what sensitivity is right?

Not only that, but also hardware bans that record the unique ID number of each major component so that a hacker would need an entirely new build if caught. AND, they can also detect the difference between a genuine phone number and a web-based number and will block numbers that are not genuine.

It's no longer the revolving door that it used to be, it's not operating more like a turnstile allowing one way traffic only.

This all adds up to a really cool way to deal with those cheating hackers.

*** Fixed it for you *** [emoji2957]

Truth both methods offer advantages and disadvantages, and PC players that use controllers (and there are quite a lot of them) don't get aim assist, iirc.

The truth is a good player is a good player and it doesn't matter what they use, be it controller or m&k.
