I realize that they make the shotguns OP so the trash players can get kills, but why not include skill based match making? That way the crap players can camp and the real players can enjoy the game.
Makes sense to most of what you said but IMO ARs are supposed to deal damage at med to long range, so why put more recoil on them to stop them doing what they should do? They have been designed to not have much recoil otherwise what’s the point in having ARs. If ARs had more recoil at range they wouldn’t make them. The change l would make is it’s slower at closer range.Not sure what universe you live in, but shotguns should be OP inside buildings. They have an effective range of like 12m.
I would like for a game to be balanced where each weapon class is "OP" at different ranges, meaning you have to tailor your gameplan depending on what weapons you're carrying.
0-10m: Shotguns are best
10-30m: SMGs are best
30-100m: ARs/LMGs are best
100-200m: DMRs are best
>200m: Snipers are best
Right now DMRs are totally worthless, and several ARs were basically king from 0-200m. They should be increasing recoil on all the ARs to match the SCAR, so that they are more difficult to use at longer ranges and you can't just full-auto laser people at 150m with zero recoil. This would create a role for DMRs to actually exist, because their combo of higher damage/slower ROF would become meaningful once the ARs can't full-auto accurately at those ranges like they can now. SMGs with their 9mm ammo should deal higher damages at shorter ranges (inside 30) but drop off damage very quickly making them ill-suited and borderline useless out at >50m. The ones that use .45 ACP should be even more extreme in that regard. Shotguns SHOULD be OP inside 10m, otherwise there would be zero reason for them to exist at all.

l would also change the MRs and snipers so you can’t hip fire!
I would’ve thought ARs could easily shoot up to about 130-150m in reality but for the games sake, l think you’re right a good idea!The idea with more recoil is it prevents ARs from being too accurate at longer ranges (>100m) with sustained fire. You can fire semi auto at 125-150m and be accurate, but at that point you're in DMR range and their higher damage is more effective in semi auto fire.

More like 800m lolAlmost all combat with A/Rs at range like that is done via an "effective rate of fire", because you have to semi-auto at that range to be accurate. But yes this is a game - otherwise the only way you'd use snipers is by laying down and firing at 1,000m haha.
A/Rs are currently so easy to use at longer ranges they make DMRs pointless.
