What's considered to be good??

Serious question;
What KD range is good, what is ok and what is exceptional?
Like I really don't know. My KD is 1,36 -- constantly through out the whole 10 stages of Prestige.
In Multiplayer, I am usually in the Top 1-3.
Google had so many answers to that, but no really answer.

Right now, it's useless to even care about "being good" in SBMM/EOMM era. Why? Because, there is this mythical A.I. over your shoulder as you play the game now. Mid-match you can get nerfed for doing he bare minimum.

Back in the COD4 heyday, I was around 0.50 to 1.00 K.D. for overall gameplay, I'm considered a good player even then. At one point, I even had a match where I was able to rack up 25 Kills, and ZERO deaths. COD4 (2x), BO2, and the SBMM era Modern Warfare... and this time, I was able to record it.

Oh, you want more? I was merciful!

I noticed that too and thought that it is weird that I start strong, not changing anything during the game, rotate my strategies but the last five min of almost every game, it's hard to get a kill. Before that, for example in Stakeout, I smoke the other team with 30-40 kills/ 4-5 death but all of a sudden, I have to land 10 shots to kill someone. That's what makes no sense, what so ever!

Im at 1.20 kd. Im fine with that because I dont care to be honest. I play, I shoot people, they shoot me. It is all good. I play for fun and seldom check my stats. Hell, I only just approaching Prestige 6 lol

I'd say that's pretty good. It's so hard to put a number of things now with sbmm like Carlos said. I can go full conspiracy mode with it lol.

Here's something I don't have answer for.

Lets say you have two players.
Player 1 has a .5 k/d overall
Player 2 has a 1.5 k/d overall

Both do really well in the next match. Both go 25-2.
We know that each player is gonna get a sweatier match with the next match.

So who has the sweatier match? You would think it's based on a higher K/D but...

Is it possible that the person with a .5 k/d is being punished more often than someone with a higher k/d based on doing really good in one match than not doing as good in 5 matches?

I mean is it the same sbmm result as someone who pulls those kind of stats more often than someone with a lower k/d? Does the system treat it different?

I don't know. Hopefully that made sense.

I am the same way, I play for fun. I just wanted to know, because I read always that some clans are looking for players, BUT only 1.5 kd or higher. And I always thought, am I so bad or are their expectations a little too high?

I know what you are saying, I would say that the 0.5 kd player gets punished and the 1.5 get a challenge. Happens to me quiet some often, sometimes I master the challenge sometimes I fail.
But I also think that the SBMM resets every day, because usually the first 2-3 games are like super easy. For example Stakeout again (use Stakeout right now to finish my camo hunt), first 3-4 games of the day, easy 40-50 Kills with maybe max. 10 death. Leader in everything, best play, you name it. After 3-4 games the challenge begins und gets only harder from there. Then it is not anymore 40-50 Kills but still around 30ish and maybe 15ish death. But how other here already said, you can feel that SBMM kicked in.

I am averaging 1.25 and my brother is a 2.0 and he makes fun of me for having a low k/d but then I play on his account and it is only easy matches I don’t get that can someone help me with this.

Your brother just got into some "bot" lobbies. Its well known that you can reverse boost your gaming profile. Its what people are complaining about with the A.I. Like you can be a good player, get 1.25, but HE gets 2.0. Its a combination of factors. He got into easier lobbies, and the algorithm would say "ok, he's in this bracket."

Easier lobbies =/= "Bot" lobbies.

Both of you can be a good player in this argument. It doesn't matter anymore.
