Ok, one of the things i like about Bops2 is the simplified score streak system, one list of gadgets that reward all positive actions in games. Since Ghosts has gone back to the MW3 system, are people dissappointed about this?
Personally, while the support streak was good for people like me who dont streak often, i have found that the bops2 system allows me more enjoyment with more fun rewards. I especially like getting rewarded for anything that other team mates do on the back of any support type streaks you call in.
The only thing i would have taken from mw3 would have been the ability to have a different 3 rewards for each class, but i would not have split between support and assault. I know a lot of people liked the specialist streak system so it is right that it has returned, but i would have prefered the simpler point streak system for the rest.
What does everyone else think?

Some of the things from Black Ops 2 looks like they're returning in Ghosts. So, instead of a mini-callsign card, and a set emblem, it's gone back to the way Black Ops does it: A calling card (which is a whole background), and a set emblem.

My guess is, the pointstreak system will use the same "getting rewarded for anything the other team mates do" on the back of the support streak(s). Actually, this is going to be magnified 10x's than BO2. Since each killstreak class has a reason for use and existence. The support killstreak class in MW3 pretty much kind of "pat" your back when you called in a support killstreak.

Now, onto the whole "split killstreak" thing... In the first place, this system was designed to be a way for players to customize their killstreaks - that's what it's for. But system wasn't the problem, the problem was that the original Infinity Ward crammed so much shit in there that people begun to exploit the killstreaks. That's how people stopped respecting it.

I like the system because it ties your killstreak chain to your weapon loadout. This way, you don't have to wait for the next match to change your killstreak chain. I found the "simplified" killstreak system in BO2 to be counter-productive, IMHO. Mostly because you're stuck with ONE killstreak chain, and not like 7 different killstreak classes (because you begin with 7 custom classes, and as you prestige, you have a choice to add a custom class and/or buy the extra custom class through microtransaction).

So, tl;dr: Ghosts' Killstreak system is going to be very good for customization.

I do agree on tying different sets of kill streaks to each loadout. Like you say in MW3 the problem was the amount of shite in each one. As long as both the assault and support class reward points as well as just kills i wont be too bothered. It would be nice to be able to take any three streaks from both support and assault, and make them both reset on death. Even I found a stealth bomber too generous a reward for 16 kills and maybe 10 deaths. (I should remind you that i suck :D ).

I did read your whole post, as you clearly know your stuff on this game.

Cant wait now, is it november yet?!

This "split" killstreak system begin life in MW2, not MW3. There were a lot of killstreaks for a class of killstreaks, and it was somehow transferred over to MW3, and it's still going strong in Ghosts. Hopefully it's more balanced, more streamlined, and less bullshit.

Well, I don't know everything about it, but I know some things. :D

No, it's not November yet! :p

I like the extra control of having different streaks with different load outs. But I really like the point system of Black Ops 2 over just kills for streaks. I personally don't think support package should have leather kill streaks.

I actually think MW3 kill streak system works just fine. You can even get kill streak points when getting 2 assists. The BO point system is oke, but to easy to exploit if you are a good player. I see to many people chaining their streaks, basically having 2 or 3 kill streaks up all the time. That just ruins the game for lesser players making them even more gimped.
