Opinions on Steam?

I love it because it makes me money. I just sell the accounts usually. Sold the last ones for a good coin or two. Trying to gather up some Runescape accounts too but I don't have time these days that much. It will simply have to wait.

I think it was one of the few things that seem to keep the market for PC gaming afloat. Ofcourse piracy will always be a problem and some games may never get sequels because of it. Steam seems to remedy that by having sales and allows players to have digital copies of the game. Its genius, pure marketing genius.

Amazing platform, but all of the features comes at a cost - which is Steam being slow for me. Except that, it's great. Nice UI, good prices, friendly community and there's no DRM. I have quite a number of games there, and I don't regret it one bit. I have saved loads of money by buying from Steam. Also I prefer downloadable games over those in a box, so that's another reason I use Steam.

Steam is probably the best PC gaming service I have ever used. They have done a great job in respect to the amount of games they currently have and the useability. I love playing CoD with friends "accidentally" giving friendly fire. The fun times I've had on steam is countless and I will continue to have more.

I love Steam for its sales but other than that I don't use Steam at all. I feel like Steam is useless to what I want to do, as my computer isn't too good. Steam just takes up to much for my computer to handle as a background program when I want to run a single game.

Another thing I like about Steam is the interface and how the social community works. I've made a lot of life-long friends on steam since I was a younger brat!

I have been a big PC gamer for a long time and I think Steam is a really good platform. You keep all your games in one place and you can add external games onto it too. It's a great tool for chatting and the community is actually a really good one. The whole interface is quite well made (they could do with a refresh on colours) but otherwise; it is a brilliant landing base for all your PC gaming.

It changed the PC market and make relevant in an age where console gaming is king. Besides that their amazing customer service and great prices gives you no excuse to not use it. It's rare to find someone who is dissatisfied with Steam

PS: For those who are unaware Steam is currently having one of their trademark massive sales. Go get some games cheap!

I remember back when I had to use Steam to play Counter-Strike 1.6, I didn't think much of it, just another program. Now it opens up gaming to a lot of people, and a lot of people buy games they will never play with the Summer Sales and such. You can't blame Steam for making a convincing marketing strategy, though. It has made PC a more viable option as far as gaming goes, but there is still trouble in getting developers to embrace it, which is upsetting, but they do what they have to do. Maybe once the whole Steam Box thing gets off the ground we will see more developers go for it.

My favorite part about Steam is the fact that the userface is so nice, it's got to be one of the most organized gaming userface's I have ever seen. Plus you really can't beat their prices.

Steam is a great system, especially because it offers great humbles. It is superior to other systems, such as Origins. The updates have a high quality, but appear very often. However, that isn't such a big problem.
